MEMBERSHIPS

The membership of the Society is open to any person who has attained the age of majority. Upon the approval by the Governing Body the person is inducted as an Executive member and becomes a member of the General Body. Upon induction, the person has to abide by the terms and conditions of the Society. The Governing Body of the Society may refuse membership to any person and shall also provide reasons for such a decision of refusal in writing to the applicant.

SUBSCRIPTION

There is an admission fee for every new member of the Society. There is also a monthly subscription fee for all the existing members at the uniform rate. The subscription fee shall be payable annually/monthly depending upon the acceptance of terms and conditions of the person inducted as the member of the Society.

RIGHTS & PRIVILEGES

Every member of the Society shall have the right to participate in the General Body meetings and shall also be entitled to inspect the records of the Society with prior approval of the Governing Body. All the members of the Society have the right to vote in the meetings of the Society. Every member shall have the right to raise any issue in a meeting of the General Body.

EXPULSION

The Governing Body of the Society may expel any member (Executive or member of General Body) only on the following grounds-

  • On the non-payment of subscription fees for more than three months in continuation without intimating the cause of non-payment/delay in writing thereof to the General Body or the Governing Body.
  • If the member acts against the objects of the Society.
  • If the member fails to attend three meetings of the Governing Body/General Body.

Upon the death or resignation of the members from the membership of the Society, the membership terminates. The reason of the expulsion shall be communicated to every member in writing & every such expelled member shall have a right to appeal before the General Body which may or may not be accepted. All appeals shall be made to the General Body of the Society. The decision of the General Body shall be final. The reason for rejecting shall be communicated to the member concerned including the office bearers.

Re-admission of the expelled members is possible upon the condition that he/she pays all the dues. In cases where the expulsion is due to any activity in contravention to the objects of the Society, the decision of the Governing Body shall be final.

REGISTER OF MEMBERS

The Society shall maintain a register of its members and shall enter therein within 10 days after admission of member or the cessation of membership. The following particulars/details shall be maintained in the said register:

  • The name, address (temporary and permanent), telephone number of the members.
  • Place of work (full address)
  • Occupation
  • Educational Qualifications
  • The date on which the member was admitted
  • The date on which the membership ceased.

Members of the General Body of the Society shall be filed with the Register of Society, Delhi as required under the section 4 of the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
