LEGAL STATUS

SPRIHA is the Society for the Promotion and Inculcation of Human Aspirations. It is a registered charitable organization under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 with the Registration Number: 44066/2002.

CERTIFICATION

SPRIHA is registered u/s 80G (5) (VI) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (No.DIT(E)2008-2009/S-5572/2787) which is valid for the period from 06.08.2008 to 31.07.2010

SPRIHA is registered U/S 12AA, read with section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961 with serial number DIT(E)/12A/2008-09/S-5572/1319

GOVERNANCE/STRUCTURE

SPRIHA has a two tier structure. They are GENERAL BODY and GOVERNING BODY.

GENERAL BODY-

It is the primary strata that consists of all the executive members of SPRIHA.

Meeting: The meeting of the General Body shall be held after every three months.

Quorum: There must be more than half of the total members at any given time for any proceeding. The decisions emergent of the meeting of the General Body should be summoned to the members. No quorum shall be required in the adjourned.

Notice: All the meeting of SPRIHA shall be summoned by the General Secretary. A ten days prior notice be given to the members for any meeting. On the written requisition of the ¼ of the members of the General Body, special meeting of it shall be summoned by the President.

Business: The following business shall be given for meeting-

  • To prepare annual programs and policies.
  • To discuss and to decide all such other matters and issues which are directly and indirectly related to the affairs of the Society.
  • To pass the annual budget of the Society.
  • To appoint a qualified auditor to audit the accounts of the Society.
  • To consider any business brought for way by the Governing Body.
  • To review the policy and work of the Governing Body. It can pass the recommendations and resolutions regarding matters of common concern for all members such as formulations and suggestions of policies and recommendations shall be considered by the Governing Body as far as practicable.

GOVERNING BODY-

It is the secondary strata that consists of President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Members (3) to whom the management of the Society is entrusted as required under section 2 of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as applicable to the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Meeting: The meeting of the General Body shall be held after every three months.

Quorum: The quorum for the meeting of the Governing Body shall be 2/3 of the total members of the Governing Body. No quorum shall be required in the adjourned. The decisions emergent of the meeting of the General Body should be summoned to the members.

Notice: All the meeting of the Society shall be summoned by the General Secretary. A ten days prior notice be given to the members for any meeting. On the written requisition of the 3/5 of the members of the General Body ten days before the meeting, special meeting of it shall be summoned by the President.

Financial Year: The financial year of the Society shall be from April 1st to March 31st every year.

Election: The Governing Body of the Society shall be elected for a term of five years in the General Body meetings. The secret ballot system shall be the mode of election.
